Can I write an announcement now and have it go out later?
Drafts and scheduled publishing, and what each one means for notifications.
- 1
Saving without publishing keeps an announcement as a draft: visible only to staff who can manage it, with no parent ever notified until you publish it.
- 2
Publishing can also be scheduled for a future date and time. Parents are notified exactly when it goes live, not when you originally wrote it.
- 3
A draft can be edited freely, including its audience, because nothing has gone out yet. Once it's published, see "I can't change who a published announcement was sent to" for what's still editable.

This is useful for preparing something ahead of a holiday or a busy day, without relying on being online at the right moment yourself.
