I can't change who a published announcement was sent to

The audience is frozen once something is live — here's the actual way to fix it.

  1. 1

Once an announcement is published, its audience is locked. You can still edit the wording, priority or link, but not who it addresses.

  2. 2

This is deliberate: changing an audience after the fact could silently add or remove families from something they've already been notified about, with no clean record of what happened.

  3. 3

To actually reach a different audience, archive the announcement and publish a new one with the right audience. The archived original stays in your history.

  4. 4

If you simply targeted the wrong class before publishing, this doesn't apply — catch it at the composer stage, where the recipient count is shown before you commit.
