What does "requires acknowledgement" do?
The difference between a post being read and a post being acknowledged.
- 1
A normal announcement is just marked read when a parent opens it. One with acknowledgement turned on also asks the parent to actively confirm they've seen it, and records that separately.
- 2
Use it for things you need proof of, such as a policy change or a safeguarding notice, not for routine updates — it adds a step for every parent, so it's worth reserving for when it matters.
- 3
You can see who has acknowledged and who hasn't on the announcement's own stats, with a straight list of outstanding parents so you know exactly who to follow up with.
- 4
A parent can't acknowledge a post without ScholarBell first marking it read, so an acknowledgement is always also a confirmed read.
